Your starship has suffered a catastrophic system failure, and something has gotten on board. Trapped in the maintenance compartment, your only option is to repair the failing systems using the only power cell left. And at all costs, prevent the access hatch from opening. You do not want to let 'it' in.

Will you survive long enough to get rescued?

If you haven't played the game, do that first before reading the rest of this description. The game benefits from learning about the world and trying to figure out how to survive. Reading the tutorial below is a SPOILER for the contents of the game, so READ AT YOUR OWN EXPENSE!

If you're still stuck and unsure what to do, here is a comprehensive guide:

  • There is a power cell that is located in the room you spawn in.
    • Carry that everywhere you go. It is your only resource.
    • Plug it into the claw-like power ports throughout the world to interact with stuff.
  • There is a message waiting for you on the terminal in the main room...
    • ... but you need to power it with the power cell to read it.
  • Explore the ship:
    • Read the manuals on the wall or floor to figure out how to solve problems
    • Explore the terminal commands in the Observation room by typing 'help'
    • Plug your battery into various power ports to see what they do
    • There are some ominous noises coming from the Access Hatch room...
  • If the battery is flat, you cannot use anything that needs power to operate, such as a terminal or a power port.
    • Find the Generator room to charge your battery
  • You will see either MINOR or MAJOR issues in the ship which need to be fixed.
    • To diagnose MINOR issues:
      • Go into each room and connect the battery to the terminal
        OR
      • Scan from the Observation room (which drains the battery)
      • MINOR issues are not visible in the environment
    • MAJOR issues:
      • Visible in the environment as either:
        • Fire (with fire crackle SFX)
        • Electrical (with zapping SFX)
        • Air leak (with hissing SFX)
    • MAJOR issues in each room will hinder the functionality of the room:
      • Observation room won't allow scans
      • Engine room will charge battery slower
      • Access Hatch room will open the bulkhead door to 'it' quicker
  • All issues are fixed on the terminal in the Observation room.
    • Look at the paper manual for the specific code that fixes the issue in the problematic room.
  • The game is won by:
    • Surviving until the rescue ship arrives, which is 10 minutes.
  • The game is lost by:
    • Letting the door at the access hatch make a full 360 degree revolution, in which case the 'thing' outside the door has broken in before you could get rescued.
